Janelle McGuire Instructional Designer

About Me:

2024 was a fantastic year. I was blessed to marry the love of my life, so if you see any examples of my work that say Janelle Wagner, those are mine, too. From now on, though, I am Janelle McGuire. Over the years, I have strived to find a career that blends my passion for art and serving others. I have found this in Instructional Design. Being able to create training materials and guides for educators and employees is a fantastic use of my skills. I have experience as an educator, a healthcare provider, and while most of my art experience is in traditional mediums, I am working on expanding my knowledge of digital art.  My goal is to ensure that all my clients receive engaging and aesthetically pleasing tools and resources. Please feel free to review my portfolio. If you have any questions or want more information on me and what I can do for you, please reach out.

Qualities to Expect From My Work:

It would be easy to simply tell you I’m honest and service-oriented, but I would rather you make your own decision about me based on some of the experiences I have had. I had my first job at 7 years old working as a secretary for my father in our family's photography company. My dad taught me that the details mattered. When I got older, and he would take me to photoshoots with him, it was my job to catch all the little details before the photo was taken. I fixed collars and necklace clasps and ensured everyone's hair was in the right place.  I built upon this attention to detail when I went to school for medical assisting. Mrs. Tellez taught me the importance of admitting when I didn't know the answer to something. It is better to admit you don't know and go find out than to give incorrect information, especially in the medical field. I carried these lessons through my undergraduate career, and when I entered the workforce, I discovered a passion for teaching. I taught parenting skills as a social worker. I taught life skills as a behavioral health tech, and as a preschool teacher, I taught developmental skills to three-year-olds. Organizing and creating lessons as an educator with no formal training was a steep learning curve. Becoming an instructional designer has equipped me with the knowledge I wish I had then, and that I hope to give to others in the future. I plan to provide thorough, detailed, and accurate lessons to every client.
